1616 / arita japan의 새로운 시리즈 PC “Outline”을 소개합니다.  프랑스 디자이너 피에르 샤르팽은 아리타 도자기의 전통적 장식을 기반으로 새 시리즈를 탄생시켰습니다. 옛 정취와 새로움을 모두 갖추고 있으며, 동시에 조형적인 형태와 장식의 관계에 대해 깊이 고민한 흔적을 담고 있습니다. 그릇의 형상과 장식을 동시에 디자인하는 데 중점을 두었고, 각각의 그릇 테두리를 미세하게 높게 만들어 그로 인해 생기는 심플한 디테일을 더했습니다. 음식이 닿는 부분은 무색으로 처리되어 담긴 음식이 더욱 돋보입니다.

매일 식탁에서 일상적으로 사용하기 위해 만들어진 시리즈에 추가로 ‘에디션 시리즈’도 만들었습니다. 에디션 시리즈 6종류의 큰 플레이트 중앙에는 피에르 샤르팽의 ‘아라베스크’ 드로잉이 그려져 있습니다.

Pierre Charpin created new series following Arita’s tradition of decorated ceramics. Between nostalgia and newness he designed a collection with a special attention on the form-decoration connection. The focus on designing the object’s shape and decoration together results in a simple detail along the edge of each piece from which the motif of gradual shading emanate. The motif create a zone of pure whiteness which offers itself as an immaculate recipient willing to welcome and enhance any dish.

In parallel to the collection, we later added a series of six large platters, whose hand-painted decoration is based on Pierre Charpin “Arabesques” drawing series.

Pierre Charpin 피에르 샤르팽

피에르 샤르팽 (1962)은 1984년 the Beaux–Arts de Bourge 졸업 후 1990년대 초반부터 가구 및 오브제 디자인에 몰두하였습니다. 특히 1998년-2001년 CIRVA(www.cirva.fr), 2003년-2005년 CRAFT(www.craft-limoges.org) 등 국제적인 예술 연구 기관에서 실시한 실험적인 프로젝트에 활동의 거점을 두어 왔습니다. ALESSI, HERMES, LIGNE ROSET, HAY와 같은 명성 있는 브랜드의 디자인, 일본의 모노즈쿠리 현장과 해외 디자이너의 콜라보레이션 프로젝트 ‘재팬 크리에이티브’의 참가, The Wrong Shop 등 폭넓은 분야에서 세계적으로 활동하고 있습니다.

2005년부터 피에르의 리미티드 에디션 제작에 대한 관리는 파리의 디자인 갤러리 ‘갤러리 클레오’가 맡고 있습니다. 파리에서 개최되고 있는 메종 에 오브제에서는 2017년 1월에 ‘디자이너 오브 더 이어’를 수상했습니다.

Pierre Charpin was born in 1962 in Saint–Mandé (near Paris) and graduated from the Beaux–Arts de Bourges in 1984. Since the early 1990s he has devoted himself to designing furniture and objects.
His practice has centered on experimental projects ― in particular those conducted with the Centre international de recherche sur le verre et les arts plastiques (CIRVA) from 1998 to 2001, and the Centre de recherche sur les arts du feu et de la terre (CRAFT) between 2003 and 2005 ― and in the course of his collaborations with renowned manufacturers such as Alessi, Cristalleries de Saint–Louis, Ceramiche Piemme, Hay, Hermès, Japan Creative, Ligne Roset, Manufacture nationale de Sèvres, Taiyou&C, Venini, The Wrong Shop.

Since 2005 the Galerie kreo (Paris) has held the exclusive right to produce limited editions of his pieces. He was named “Designer of the Year” of Maison et Objet 2017 this January.
