1616 / S&B “칼라 포세린”

칼라 포세린 라인은 아리타 지역 도자기에 관한 리서치, 그 지역에서 만들어졌던 작품들을 분석한 내용들로부터 시작되었습니다. 수채화와 같은 블루, 밝은 그린, 레드 오렌지와 황토색과 같은 전형전인 일본의 색상들이 재해석되어서 현대적 형태의 자기 위에 입혀졌습니다. 기능적인 그릇 시리즈에 여전히 아리타 자기의 색상의 흔적은 남았습니다.

다양한 질감의 재료와 유약의 겹쳐짐으로 층층이 쌓아올려진 색은 자기가 갖고 있는 본연의 흰색과 잘 어울어집니다. 아리타 지역 장인들의 섬세한 감각으로 실현된 칼라 포세린 라인은 일본 전통을 바라보는 유럽의 관점을 보여줍니다.

Based on extensive research on Arita ceramics and an analysis of historical local masterpieces, Scholten & Baijings created a series named Colour Porcelain. Typical Japanese colours, such as aquarelle-blue, light green, red-orange and ochre, are recontextualised and applied in new combinations on a set of contemporary, highly functional tableware that in its entirety still reflect the typical Arita colour spectrum.

Layered colour compositions are carried out in various textures and shades of glaze and are combined with the natural white of the porcelain itself. Made with a delicate sense for local crafts and industry, Colour Porcelain shows an original European perspective on Japanese tradition.

Scholten & Baijings 숄텐 앤드 바잉

스테판 숄텐(1972)과 캐롤 바잉(1973)은 2000년 숄텐 앤드 바잉 스튜디오를 설립했습니다. 독특한, 어떤면에서는 네덜란드 풍이 거의 느껴지지 않는 디자인 스타일 안에서 미니멀적 형태와 색을 균형적으로 사용합니다. 전통적 공예기법과 산업 제작 공정과 접목시키기도 합니다. 헤이 HAY 와 가리모쿠 뉴 스탠다드 KNS, 토마스 익 Thomas Eyck 을 포함한 세계 여러 브랜드와 함께 작업하고 있습니다.

숄텐 앤드 바잉의 작업들은 세계적으로 뮤지엄, 개인 콜렉터들에게 소장되고 있습니다. 2011년 엘르데코 영 디자이너 탈렌트를 수상했고 더치 디자인 어워드, 월페이퍼 디자인 어워드를 수상했습니다.

Stefan Scholten (1972) and Carole Baijings (1973) established Scholten & Baijings, Studio for Design, in 2000. They combine minimal forms and balanced use of colour with traditional craft techniques and industrial production in a distinctive, almost un-Dutch design style.

They work for companies and institutions such as the Zuiderzee Museum, Audax Textile Museum, RoyalVKB, Established & Sons, HAY, Thomas Eyck, Pastoe and many more. Their work has been purchased by several museums and private collectors and is sold worldwide. They recently received their second Dutch Design Award, won a Wallpaper Design Award and were rewarded with the ELLE Decoration International Design Award for Young Designer Talent 2011.
